Selexis’ innovative technologies and world-class expert services significantly reduce the time, effort, and costs associated with developing high-performance mammalian cell lines for therapeutic protein production (e.g. MAbs, growth factors, enzymes). With the development of the Selexis SUREtechnology Platform™ it is now possible to generate stable and high performing manufacturing cell lines in approximately 3 months from the time of transfection, with productivity levels reaching 2-5 g/L for monoclonal antibodies, reducing the need for larger bioreactor capacity.
Selexis has developed well-defined cell culture conditions, media, seeding and feeding parameters (SUREfeed Strategy™) for their proprietary SURE CHO-M Cell line™ and starting in 2011 Selexis now carries out initial scale-up optimization into 1-2 L bioreactors. As a result, the Selexis SUREdevelopment Process™ improves productivity and jump-starts the scale-up process for the CMOs, resulting in faster biomanufacturing timelines and reduced development costs.
As of 4Q2011, Selexis has generated over 1,300 clonal cell lines being used in a variety of programs from discovery to late-stage clinical trials. The Company anticipates three products manufactured from cell lines using the Selexis SUREtechnology Platform™ to be launched in 2012.
