Selexis filed a new patent, called Selexis Genetic Elements II, based on a novel aspect of its technology platform. It is based on two novel and patent-protected principles: human MAR DNA sequences and new transfection procedures.

Selexis moved its headquarters in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland.
April 2003
Selexis entered into an agreement to acquire the intellectual property rights from the University of Lausanne.

Selexis SA was founded as a spin-out of the University of Lausanne by Dr. Igor Fisch and Prof. Nicolas Mermod. The company started hiring highly qualified people.
Prof. Nicolas Mermod and Dr. Igor Fisch received seed financing from the CTI (Commission pour la Technologie et l'Innovation, Berne).
Igor Fisch was awarded the De Vigier prize for the best Swiss biotech business idea of the Year 2000.
