Case Study Illustrates Cell Specific Productivities of up to 80 pcd Utilizing Bioinformatics and Selexis’ Patented Technology, MARtech™
Selexis SA to Present Case Study at the Antibody Development and Production Conference
Geneva, Switzerland – February 24, 2006 - Selexis SA, a Swiss-based biotechnology company specializing in high yield and stable cell line development for therapeutic protein manufacturing announced today that it will present the case study “Construction of Stable Mammalian CHO Cell Lines Producing High Yield Recombinant Antibodies by Combining Bioinformatics and High Throughput Transfection Process” at the next Antibody and Development & Protein Conference in Carlsbad, California (March 1-3, 2006).
Dr. Pierre-Alain, Ph.D., Head of Research and Development at Selexis, will present the case study on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 10:15 AM as part of the “Design of Expression Systems” track. Selected slides from the lecture, including data on MARtech™, will also be available following the meeting.
Presentation Abstract
Construction of Stable Mammalian CHO Cell Lines Producing High Yield Recombinant Antibodies by Combining Bioinformatics and High Throughput Transfection Process We have developed a novel technology to rapidly create high-antibody (MAb)producing cell lines. The technology involves inserting a MAR genomic elements into the heavy and light chain expression vectors. Iterative transfections allow the targeting of the vectors into unique chromosome's loci. Using CHO-DG44 cells, clones have been selected that show cell specific productivities of up to 80 pcd.
About Selexis
Selexis is a privately held biotechnology company dedicated to the development of expert
services and technologies for comprehensive and rapid solutions for stable, high yield cell line
development and protein manufacturing for therapeutic drugs. The Company’s unique seven
step, high through put process, which includes the forth generation patented MARtech™,
reduces traditional cell line development (DHFR) from 12 months to 3 months (after transfection
to isolating cell clones) without any change in the scale-up process. For more information please
