Selexis Announces Promotion of Dr. Pierre-Alain Girod to Chief Scientific Officer
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND, November 20, 2007
Selexis SA, a Swiss-based biotechnology company offering technologies and services to enable significantly improved drug discovery, development, and cGMP production, announced today the promotion of Dr. Pierre-Alain Girod to Chief Scientific Officer.
“I am very pleased to make this announcement” said Dr. Igor Fisch, CEO of Selexis, SA. “Pierre-Alain has held a key leadership position in our growing company and has played a major scientific role in the advancement of our core-technology based on Selexis proprietary Genetic Elements called SGE™. His contributions in the expansion of our SGE™ offering as well as the advancement of our SURE Cell Line Development Process has been outstanding and with our scientific organization likely to double again in 2008, I couldn’t ask for anyone better to lead this team. Pierre-Alain will be fully responsible for all R&D operations at Selexis SA in Geneva and will also be in charge of coordinating our efforts in maintaining a strong link with the University of Lausanne.
Pierre-Alain obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Lausanne and completed his scientific training as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. Prior to joining Selexis, he worked at the Department of Biology at the University of Lausanne in the field of targeted protein degradation. He has co-authored a number of scientific papers and patent applications.
