The industry experts at Selexis developed our Selexis Genetic Elements™ as a technology to enable the rapid development of high performance mammalian cell lines. Selexis Genetic Elements™ are based on human DNA sequences which were discovered using a novel bioinformatics tool and are now applied to control the dynamic organization of transgenes in the chromatin. SGEs function by insulating nearby genes from the effect of surrounding chromatin thereby increasing copy number dependent, position-independent, expression of genes. For this reason, Selexis Genetic Elements™ increases the number of independently transformed cells that express the protein and promotes higher amount of recombinant protein produced by these cells.
